SafeGuarding Youth

The Golden Gate Area Council and Scouting America prioritize the safety of every Scout. All Scouting participants (Scouts BSA, Venturers, Sea Scouts, and Explorers) 18 years of age or older must submit an adult application, complete Safeguarding Youth Training (SYT), and comply with California AB-506 requirements for youth-serving organizations. Parents are encouraged to take SYT to better understand how Scouting keeps youth safe.
