Youth

Golden Gate Area Council invites you to take advantage of the enriching scouting events and opportunities our organization offers participants. Getting involved is as simple as attending one of our recruitment events. These events occur at the beginning of the school year and allow you to ask questions and meet the unit leader. You can also use the online application process to join with a completely digital process.

Parents

Parents

Scouts BSA has many opportunities for parents to be leaders with their Scout’s chosen Troop! Options also exist for adults who wish to volunteer as activity merit badge counselors, camp staff, instructors, or office assistants with Scouting Units, Districts, and Councils. Training classes that provide adults with leadership skills and techniques to further their careers are also available.

Volunteers

Volunteers

Every youth deserves trained adult leaders. New volunteers are welcome and appreciated. We have a process in place to fully ensure volunteer and unit leader compliance with Scouting America membership standards. Thank you for considering playing a part in shaping the leaders of tomorrow!

On April 19, 1925, a group of ten Eagle Scouts from the San Francisco Council gathered in the office of Scout Exec Raymond O Hanson. The purpose of the meeting was to create an organization which would hold the interest of older scouts and could serve as an additional incentive for others to attain the rank of Eagle Scout. The Golden Gate Area Council (GGAC) has dedicated volunteers bringing the benefits of the national association to Eagle’s and their families locally.
