The Golden Gate Area Council, Scouting America will be hosting the 49^th Annual Construction Lunch-O-Ree on October 23, 2026, at The Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square (new location). This prestigious annual event recognizes individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and commitment to their community.

We are proud to recognize Kathryn Cahill Thompson, Chief Executive Officer at Cahill Contractors LLC, as this year’s Construction Lunch-O-Ree Good Scout honoree. Kathryn is a fourth-generation leader in the construction industry and has served as CEO since 2016.  Since joining the company in 2007, she has held leadership roles across project management, preconstruction, and operations, bringing a comprehensive understanding of the business and a collaborative, people-first approach to leading one of the Bay Area’s premier builders.

Before joining Cahill, Kathryn built a diverse professional foundation in management consulting, nonprofit strategy consulting, and education. These experiences shaped her leadership philosophy, strengthening her commitment to strategic thinking, organizational development, and creating lasting impact for both clients and communities.

As CEO, Kathryn is dedicated to fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and inclusion while advancing the construction industry's role in building stronger, more resilient communities. She is a respected industry leader and an active advocate for collaboration across the business and civic sectors.

Kathryn extends her leadership beyond Cahill through service on the Boards of Directors of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the Construction Employers' Association, and Marin Horizon School. Her board service reflects a deep commitment to strengthening the construction industry, supporting economic vitality, and investing in the next generation of leaders.
