This year, we proudly honored Eagle Scout and Alameda County Supervisor David Haubert as our Distinguished Citizen Award recipient. Supervisor Haubert has dedicated over two decades to public service, holding various elected offices, including School Board Trustee, City Council Member, Mayor, and Alameda County Supervisor for District 1. His leadership extended to key regional and state organizations, including the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Alameda County Transportation Commission, and the Dublin Rotary. Through his bipartisan efforts, he has continued to enhance the quality of life for all Bay Area residents.
The evening provided a memorable experience, featuring networking, cocktails, and an elegant dinner in a stunning vineyard setting. Most importantly, the event served as a vital fundraiser for local Scouting programs, directly supporting leadership development training, summer camp scholarships for underserved youth, and community service initiatives. The Golden Gate Area Council, Scouting America serves over 11,500 young men and women across the region, from Fremont to Clearlake and San Francisco to Livermore.
With the participation of esteemed community leaders and supporters, the 2024 Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner played a pivotal role in empowering the next generation of leaders. The event successfully celebrated Supervisor Haubert’s achievements while furthering the mission of Scouting—preparing young people for a lifetime of character, service, and leadership.
