District Awards and Recognition

Do you have an outstanding adult in your Pack, Troop, Crew, or Post?  Have they contributed extra effort, time, work, or ideas?  Are you and the boys and girls proud of what they have done?  Then nominate them now for District recognition by completing this FORM.

Levels of Awards

Each year some of our District’s top Scouters are honored with special awards for their service to youth.  These include:

  1. The Mission Peak District Certificate of Appreciation is presented as a thank you to Scouters who have given significant service to their Pack, Troop, Crew, Post, or District.

  2. A District Plaque is presented for outstanding service over an extended period to multiple units and/or Mission Peak District.

  3. The District Award of Merit is awarded by the Golden Gate Area Council to Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through noteworthy service given at the District level.  The service can be a single extraordinary act, several individual efforts, or results over an extended period.  As a Council award, the number that can be presented is strictly limited.

The Scouting experience is divided into programs according to age and activities.

Resources to help our Webelos Bridgings over to Scouts BSA

Use the tables below to explore the various options available to Webelos Scouts. You may have particular days that work for you and hence looking at Meeting Days may be important. Location is also a concern. Below are two tables – the first has information on the Troop including meeting day, location, Unit Website if they have one, Committee Chair, and Scoutmaster with e-mail contact. The second table is a replication of the table generated for the October Troop Showcase and has a link to a flyer each troop provided for the Showcase.

While some troops draw scouts from all over the tri-city area, most troops draw scouts within about a 3-to-4-mile radius of their meeting spot. Maps of where troops meet are available here for boys and for girls.
