We are very excited to announce our second annual, family-friendly, Mountain Bike Getaway for Scouting. A retreat from the normal. A bite-sized, all-inclusive getaway so it’s easy to fit on the calendar, pack your essential gear, and then escape the concrete jungle for a full weekend in Northern California that benefits Scouting.
You will have exclusive access to the Wente Scout Reservation for the entire weekend. Campers will bring their bikes to ride the 19+ miles of diverse trails over and through two mountain zones. There is a beautiful lake to fish, swim, or boat in with rowboats and kayaks on site. Main meals are prepared by a professional chef every day so you don’t have to plan meals! There will be group rides, night rides, and pump tracks available to pump anytime. There will be activities like bike maintenance classes, skills coaching sessions, disc golf putting, fishing, swimming, boating, shooting clays, archery, stargazing, a beer garden and ice cream socials. Sporting Clays Program provided by the GGACBSA.
The tents and platforms are there, the meals are prepared, and the dishes are taken care of… Just load up your gear and get out there.

What is the Mountain Bike Getaway for Scouting?
It’s a fully all-inclusive weekend adventure at Wente Scout Reservation in Northern California — featuring mountain biking, camping, meals by a private chef, and tons of outdoor activities, all to benefit local Scouting programs.
What’s included in the price?
Everything — riding access, activities, demo bikes, tents, meals, drinks, clinics, and entertainment. Just bring your bike, clothes, and sleeping gear.
Who can attend?
Everyone is welcome! Riders of all levels, families, youth, and even non-riders. We offer Adult, Youth, and +1 Non-Rider passes.
Do I need to be affiliated with Scouting to attend?
Nope! This is a public event open to all outdoor lovers. Proceeds support local Scouting, but you don’t need to be a Scout or have a Scout in your family.
What skill level is the riding geared toward?
All levels! We have 20+ miles of trails ranging from beginner to advanced. You can ride at your own pace or join guided group rides and clinics.
What if I’m not a biker?
No problem — there’s kayaking, fishing, swimming, archery, clay shooting, disc golf, hiking, and lots of time to relax.
Is food included?
Yes — all meals are included and prepared by private chef Steph Seaborg. We also provide beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, and fresh coffee daily.
What’s the lodging situation?
Tents and gear are provided on-site. Camp areas are first-come, first-served. You will have a few campsites to choose from: lakeside or quieter hilltop campsites. Just bring personal bedding and essentials.
Can I bring my own tent or RV?
Tents are provided, but you're welcome to bring your own gear. There are only 10 limited van-camping spots available. No RVs are allowed in this area due to site restrictions. No car camping is allowed in all other sites. .
